Frequently Asked Questions

See below for a glossary of terms related to this site and services.

Following are answers to some questions often asked. If your question is not addressed below, please email us with your question. Last updated June 5, 2010.

How is my clipart delivered to me?

All clip art is sold as instant downloads. As soon as you make a purchase you will get an email containing your download link. Your download links can also be found in your account within your order details.

Can I use these graphics to sell on CafePress/Zazzle, etc.?

Yes. You may sell them on any POD that does not require exclusive designs. You must be able to note a credit somwhere on your product or on your shop if using my credit required graphics. Please see the terms of use for the proper credit and explanation of the license types that are available for each graphic or clip art set.

Can I create a logo with your clipart graphics?

No. You may not use any of the graphics in a logo. A logo should be trademarkable and contain graphics that are exclusive to your company or product. Since I retain all copyright ownership of these graphics (and sell the use of them to many different people) then you or a client would be unable to trademark the logo. However, I do not have any problem with someone using the graphics to decorate a logo or put near a logo to enhance it. You cannot trademark it and that graphic cannot be considered part of your logo.

I do offer logo and web design services and can create exclusive graphics for you. Please, check out my online graphic design portfolio at ne.logomasterpiece.com and contact me to see if I am available for your graphic design needs.

Can I illustrate a book I am writing with your images?

If you contact me first with the details of the book and how they will be used to illustrate the book. Most likely, yes. I would need to approve how the credit is worded. If you are using my graphics as the main source of illustration, then the front cover would need to say something along the lines of Illustrated by Né Metger, in addition to proper credit somewhere in the book. If you are just using my images along with other images, you may just need to include a copyright notice near the image as a caption. I will need to review your book on a case by case basis.

May I change the colors or manipulate the images?

Yes, you may change the colors of the images. You may manipulate the images as long as they remain recognizable. In fact, it is encouraged that you use these images in creative ways. Add to them, change the colors, crop out part if needed. Please, refrain from pulling individual pieces from the graphics. Such as, please do not take the slipper off of the pajama puppy to use individually, etc.

Can I use these graphics in scrapbooking kits I sell?

No. To my understanding, this would mean that you would be offering the actual graphics to people who buy your kits so that they can design with. That is what I am already doing here. You can purchase these graphics to design with and then sell that product commercially. Your product cannot just be another way to sell the graphics themselves! You may not use these graphics on CDs, in scrapbooking kits, on websites as a download or anything similar. You may use these graphics to design the packaging of a product or to decorate a product. If you have any questions on this matter or need clarification for your particular project, do not hesitate to Contact Us about it.

Where is my download link?

All download links are provided immediately through your account within your order details as soon as you make a purchase. Please login to your account. In the pink box on the right side of your screen, click on the 'My orders' link. A list of all your orders will display. Your most recent purchase will always be on the top. Click on the pink order number (ei. #000061). This will bring you to all the details of your recent order. Under 'Reference Product' you will see the name of the clipart you purchased as a link. This is your download link. When you click on it, choose to save the file. You will now be able to access the clipart from where you saved it.

Also, you will now receive an email containing a list of all your purchased graphics for that order and convenient download links. This is a new feature and we hope you find it helpful.

My download link is corrupt or the graphic is missing.

If you made a purchase and your order is not in your account or your download link is not working, contact me with your order details (e.g. PayPal Transaction ID#) and I will send you instructions on how to obtain your downloads once I have verified your payment has cleared. If the damaged graphics or links concern the free graphics, just let me know and I will let you know when the problem is fixed.

Is there a shipping charge? Why did I get charged for shipping?

There is no charge for shipping on any downloads. If you have added a downloadable graphic or clipart set to your cart and see a shipping charge, it is a glitch. Please, contact me about it so that I can investigate the issue.

If I ever offer collections of my graphics on a CD, then there will be a shipping charge for those only. But, there will never be a shipping charge for downloadable products.

How are your images drawn?

All graphics are digitally drawn in a vector program called Adobe Illustrator. Then they are saved as high resolution PNG (or JPG) or as Vector EPS files. All vector graphics are saved in a legacy EPS format. Please be sure to know which file type you are able to use before purchasing.

Do you offer any free graphics?

Yes. Please go to our free clipart section for free clipart that can be used for personal, educational and commercial use. Please be aware that all terms of use apply to our free clipart.

Glossary

The following terms are defined as they relate to this site and services.

Royalty Free:  First let it be noted that royalty free does not mean cost free or public domain. I retain all copyrights and you must follow all terms of use. Royalty free refers to the fact that you do not have to keep paying a royalty every time you use the graphic. You may use the clip-art for personal and commerical use unlimited times and multiple uses. You may not sale or distribute the actual image to anyone else.

Resolution: The resolution is the number of pixels an image has. The more pixels or dots per inch (dpi) the higher the resolution. An image that is 10" x 10" and saved at 300 dpi has a resolution of 3000x3000. Please see the data sheet at the bottom of each product page to see the resolution of any given clip-art graphic.

Transparent PNG: Most of my images, added prior to 2010, are saved as PNG files with transparent backgrounds. PNG stands for portable network graphics and was created as a better alernative to the GIF file format. PNGs are great for web use, but can also be used to create print ready high resolution graphics without losing quality.

Just contact me if you have a question or need a term on my site defined. Thank you, Ne'
